The all-new Trance X 29er was unveiled in August, and first ride impressions have been appearing on websites and magazine pages over the past month. Editors from some of the world’s top cycling publications have been weighing in on Giant’s new trail machine, praising its agile trail manners and confident ride.
“First impressions suggest the big-wheeled Trance will be an ideal trail-munching machine,” reported Bikeradar.com editor James Huang after a test ride in the rugged backcountry of British Columbia, Canada. “[With] 29-inch wheels, big tires, excellent suspension, solid build kit and stock dropper post, it’s quite the machine for devouring long stretches of singletrack.”
Pinkbike.com also posted a review from Brad Walton, stating: “Giant has gone 29” with the 2013 Trance X 29er, designed to be a wicked fast 5” trail bike for the Enduro, Super D, or epic trail rider. Giant’s concept for the Trance X 29er spurs from a melding of the benefits of the 29” wheel with a more aggressive geometry, creating a fast and flickable chassis for the ultimate trail bike.”
And just last week, Dirt Rag posted its review after testing out the new 29er at the Outdoor Demo tradeshow event in Bootleg Canyon, Nevada. “I walked away impressed with the Trance X 29er’s efficiency while pedaling, and its lively handling,” reported Stephen Haynes.
